Handmade in Bangladesh by young women that are at great risk of being sold into trafficking and are often discarded by husbands or families when they are deemed "expendable."  In the Bengali language, "basha" means "house" and "asha" means "hope." Their vision is to help these women rediscover their dignity and inherent value not only through meaningful work, but also by welcoming them as part of their family. BASHA opened its doors on 1 May 2011. That day fourteen women joined Basha's Dhaka office ready to begin a new life. Three years later, they had grown to include three offices in two Bangladesh districts, employing more than triple the original number of women.

"The sharp pain on their faces...was gradually replaced with peace and hope."
- Robin Seyfert, founder of BASHA
